We left the town around 12:30 and went north on US-550 towards Ouray. Another great ride. You must ride it. We arrived in Ouray right before 2PM and stop at XXXX Restaurant for a good sandwich. |
We got gas there and keep going north to Ridgway, when turn left on CO-62. |
Then on CO-145 and UT-45 we got a lot of wind. And cows ‘brown’ in the road. Have you ever tried to avoid ride on those ‘brown’ things with a lot of side wind on your bike? Yep… but we managed it riding slow. The cows are every were there. |
| Then at the shower we had another bad experience at this campsite: they clean the bathrooms only once a day, between 11PM and 1AM, so at 9:00PM the bathrooms were a mess. Tons of happy campers had their tool on the 22 hours usage… No paper, all wet and dirty… you don’t want be there. Then at night, the noise and annoyance was worst. On top of that, we had high winds until 1:00AM, with sand storm. Sand every were. One more night we didn’t sleep well. I start hating this campsite. |
| Today we rode US_191, US-491, US-550, CO 62, CO-90 and UT-46 in a total of 420 miles in 8:30 driving hours/11:00 total. Got temperatures from 47F to 85F and high winds from Ridgway,CO to Moab (35+mph). | |
