June 28, 2005 - San Bernardino to Castle Crag, California - Day 01
Today's stats:
Miles rode = 677 - Average moving = 68MPH - Average day = 52MPH
Stop for gas = 4 times (G01 - G04 at the map)
Moving time = 9:40h - Total time = 12:30H
Average MPH = 41
Today's total cost = $114
Major roads today: I-10 W, I-210 W, I-5 N

We departed from home at 5:00AM sharp.
The freeways 10 and 210 were already packed, but not bad.
We stopped for gas 4 times and 2 more times for breakfast and lunch.
The I-5 is a really boring freeway, but at least wasn't too hot at that time in the morning.
Around 1:30PM we stopped for lunch at a Jack in the Box near Paterson, CA where our iPod stop working. Few minutes and I realized that was the cigarette charger adapter that wasn't charging. We did a small detour to I-580, towards Tracy, CA and stopped at a Wall Mart store. They have everything there.
We arrived at Castle Crag campsite around 5PM and we had plenty of time to choose a god place to pitch our tent.
The place had some mosquitos, and we had to use our DEET to get away from the bites, but the showers were really good (25 cents coins needed. 1 dollar =5 minutes of hot and good water.)
Our dinner was pea soup and crackers, with peach as a dessert.
We met a couple from Louisiana there and chatted for a while, and then went to sleep.
First night in a tent is not always the best one, but our gear is good, so we did well.
The high temperature we got today was 90F and the low was 52F.
