Today was the Denali Park day. We spend some time at the BMW dealer changing
oil on the bike and hit the road right after lunch. We had lunch at the famous
Lucky Whishbone restaurant (1033 E 5th Ave) and of course, we ate chicken.
Was delicious. One of the best chickens we ever had in USA.
Before we spend some time at the BMW dealer changing oil on the bike were
we met 2 couples who are doing Alaska in rental motorcycles and they told
us about their Europe motorcycle tour past year.
We had lunch at the famous Lucky Wishbone restaurant and of course, we eat
chicken. It was delicious. One of the best chickens we ever had in USA.
Then we had a small problem with the Honda dealer where we order Eliane's
helmet cable. It didn't arrive. This after paying $35 for next day shipping.
Then, I had to pay extra $25 to ship it to Fairbanks, when it arrives in
Anchorage. I felt that the UPS should pay for that, but the dealer told me
that UPS next day to Alaska is not warranted... is that true?
The road from Anchorage to Denali Park is good from the pavement, but boring
as a MC road.
When we got to Denali Park around 6:00PM and all in park campsites were full,
so we went to a small one outside named Riverside Campground. Wasn't bad
but far away to be good.
After set the tent we went back to the park and did a 13 miles trip to inside
the park. Private cars can only go that 13 miles, but the busses can go furthers.
Tomorrow we will have a 6 hours tour inside the park.
We were very luck since we could see mount McKinley without clouds.
Our dinner today was inside the tent, under light rain, and was ice-cream
(yes, ice-cream) and corn.
We went to sleep at 11:45PM and still raining and clear. Never got dark and
rain all night long.
Today we had temperatures range from 45F to 59F.

We
were very fortunated: few people can visite Denaly park and
see Mt. McKinley (20.320ft) like we did. |
 |
Most of the time Mt.McKinley
is covered by clouds and to prove it, few minutes after |

I
took the picture, you could not see it any more.
