We wake up and pack the tent under rain at 7:30AM.
At 8:30 we were at the parking entrance go get our bus tour ($18.00) and finally we met our friends. They had sleep about 11 miles north of us and then the bus trip was more like to put the conversation up to date then for sight seeing. Actually after about 2 hours inside the park we decide to leave the bus and head back. At the end, we didn't see any wildlife inside the park and almost didn't see the park at all. We need to go back there.
We had lunch at a local Denali restaurant and head to Fairbanks.
The worst road on our whole trip. 3 long gravel+mud stretches made it long and scary. The bike was dancing on the road, literally.
To make the day better, we stay at a really good campsite, right next to the Chena River who cross Fairbanks East to West. We got 2 RV's sites, with electrical and water and pitched the 4 tents there. The sunset would be 1:30 and we had plenty of time. I could connect to the Internet using my wireless laptop and 'stealing' connection from one of the RV's parked there. It worked for about 2 hours when probably the RV's owner either disconnect his Internet or find about me and shut me down. Wireless Internet should be free. I keep my open all the time.
Mike cooked a great dinner for us, at the midnight lights. We finished dinner around 2 in the morning, enjoying the company of our friends and the beautiful scenery.
Many biker riders camping here. Some are going to the artic tomorrow; some just came back from there. We learned a lot of experiences from them.
Then during the night the rain start. We are getting tired of this rain.
Temperature today was 45F to 66F
