The vacation is over. Since we lost one day in Barrow, I cannot see Fairbanks
at this time, but I will be back.
We are heading back home. Like all BMW riders, we are doing the long way
home, towards Jasper, Glacier Park, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Snowy Range,
Arches National Park and finally home.
The road back was new for us from Fairbanks until Tok, and from there was
not a mystery any more. We already knew what to expect. Actually, if it's
not raining like the day we came up north, that road is not that bad.
We stop at North Pole and took pictures with Santa Claus in his house.
No problems again crossing the border back to Canada. (Remember, the board
is already about 30 miles inside Canada) Always very courteous officers.
The road is under constructions near Destruction bay and today we had a lot
of dust there. Much more then when we were coming, but not mud, so it's some
kind of compromise you have to deal with: mud or dust.
We stay at the same camping site in Whitehorse, mostly because we would like
to make up the time wasted in Barrow, so no time to look for new places.
The bike started getting really nasty here. No time for cleaning and the
bugs are piling up
Temperature
today was 54F to 68F
