Another long day. Boring, nothing to see along the road until Dawson Creek,
where we stopped at the Mile Zero of Alaska Highway. Took many pictures there
and we also took pictures on the 'real' mile 0 (not the one build for tourists).
We were aware that between Fort Nelson and Wonowon there was no gas. It was
about 150 miles and if you don't gas up in Fort Nelson, probably you will
need it in the middle of nowhere.
We camped right before Jasper in a great KOA campsite. Actually, that was
the best one we camped in the whole trip. They have an outside kitchen that
campers can use and a magnificent view.
Temperature
today was 54F to 68F

One black bear really close to the road near Fort Nelson |
Near Sikanni we stop for breakfast. |
This yellow flower is everywhere from here to Calgary. I guess it's some kind of oil |
The mountains are gone. Now we are on the flats. |
You are now entering the world famous Alaska Highway mile zero in Dasson Creek, B.C. |
and this is the picture to prove it.
We did it backwards (AK to BC)
Just in case you still not believe. this IS the mile 0
OK!. Was not. This is the real mile zero. Because this is an important intersection, they have to build the "mile zero" couple blocks from the original one.(this on the right). Cars cannot stop there and take pictures, but MC are not cars right! |
I didn't' know I had a Saint in my name, with church and all... |
more of that yellow flower |

BC has this interesting farms along the road |
This one could be a nice background for computers. |

Mine town, near Fort St. John |

Canadian Tax Dollars at work |

The only accident we saw the whole 10.000 miles trip.
A truck flipped next to the road. |
