If I could pass this day... leaving Grand Junction early in the morning,
by 7:00AM we were at Arches National Park. We had our breakfast at the park
and by 8:00AM the temperature was already 85F. And we never got anything
less them that until we arrived home at 10:00PM and turned the house air
conditioning way down.
From 11:00AM until 8:00PM we rode in temperatures over 100F and from 3:30PM
until 6:30PM we rode under 115F+. In Needles, CA, we got the maximum
of 124F for about one hour and that was almost unbearable. Eliane was pouring
water on us, behind the neck, every 5 minutes from a gallon of cold water
that we kept buying at every gas station. We had to stop for about 45 minutes
in a McDonalds just to cool down.
At home, we finally cooled down and enjoyed the moment. We had done Alaska,
in a BMW K1200LT. It's some accomplishment.
Temperature
today was 59F to 124F
