First remove the right and left upper
panels.
|
 |
Then remove the original CB unit from inside
the glove box.
Attention: remove the rubber grommet to inside and not to
outside like I did, other vise you will have to pass again to
the hole in order to remove the cables.
You can start disconnection all cables under the radio (to
the left) since they are color code or do not connect it you
try to connect the wrong connectors. |
 |
this is the CB unit cables.
You will not need the antenna extension who came with it, since
the original antenna cable will go up front. |
 |
Removing the cables from inside the gloves box
grommet |
 |
Start removing the radio panel (6 screws, 4
on front 2 next to the seat.) |
 |
cut the protection for the old antenna and unscrew
it |
 |
remove the 2 top screws from the oil clutch
reservoir and install the unit with the 2 supplied screws
Before installing the mount, assembly the unit to it. (it's
hard to do the opposite).
|
 |
In order to pass the 2 cables thru the end of
the handlebars I had to removed the whole key cover. Was a pain
but I could not find another ways, since the CB unit has a very
tick section on the cable |
 |
that was the most difficult part, since the plastic
didn't came off. I just loose the 4 screws and force the cable
thru the space. |
| |
|
 |
Once the cable passed, was easy from there. |
 |
there is were you have to pass the cable. |
 |
see the hook?
You have to keep the cables inside this hook, but in order to
do it, I had to pass the tick part of the cable from outside the
hook, then with a pliers just open the hook a little and jiggle
the thin part of the cable inside the hook. |
 |
finally...
now just connect the cables:
the CB unit cable goes to the Blue connector (factory installed)
and the antenna goes to the antenna cable |
 |
looks messy, but is easy. |
 |
done |
 |
not need to see if it will work... |
