 Considered
the oldest and largest tree in the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees,
the Grizzly Giant is one of the symbols for which Yosemite's sequoia
groves are best know. Located in the Lower Grove, the Grizzly Giant
is 2.700 years old. The tree stands 200 feet tall and its base cannot
capture the greatness and beauty of this ancient sequoia. |
 Lafayette Bunnell, a member of the Mariposa Battalion that discovered Yosemite Valley in 1851, named Vernal Fall. The Mist Trail from Happy Isles to the top of Vernal Fall is one of the most popular trails in the park. The height of Vernal Fall is 317 feet. |

 Tuolumme Meadows (8.600 feet) is a chain of remarkably beautiful meadows near Yosemite's eastern boundary. Patches of snow may remain all summer in the higher elevations. |

is the last remaining historic structure in what was know as 'Old
Village'. a cluster of hotels, stores, and other buildings in existence
